Winter at the Sonnenhof in Westerndorf

The Sonnenhof is 900m from the new Choralmbahn cable car. The nearest ski slope is less than 10 minutes on foot. With good snow conditions, it's possible to ski right down to the guesthouse. Less aspiring people can reach the cable car, and with it the largest skiing area in Europe, in just a few minutes by car. We naturally offer a ski storage room and ski boot dryer in the building.

Westendorf is situated in the heart of the Kitzbühel and Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser–Brixental skiing areas. The two areas are connected by the Ki-West cable car in Westendorf. This ensures maximum enjoyment skiing in one of the largest continuous skiing networks in Europe!

SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental offers fantastic skiing on over 250km of slopes covering all levels of difficulty. It has be awarded 'TOP Skiing Area' status several times. State-of-the-art ski lifts provide fast and safe ascents. This sunny skiing area is popular with both athletic skiers and families alike.

Because of it's location, the Westendorf skiing area has very reliable snow and is attractive due to its four different kilometre-long valley descents.

Snow shoe trekking is a very special experience. Tramping through powder snow in a fairytale winter landscape is a fascinating, calming experience that can be done at both a leisurely or more athletic pace. We can provide information about trails that have not been walked; snow shoe rental is available in the village.

For example, you can discover our small Alpine farm on a circular route in the Windautal valley.
